Lisbeth Salander is back with a vengeance.
The series that began with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo continues as brilliant hacker Lisbeth Salander teams up with journalist Mikael Blomkvist to uncover the secrets of her childhood and to take revenge.
Lisbeth Salander—obstinate outsider, volatile seeker of justice for herself and others—seizes on a chance to unearth her mysterious past once and for all. And she will let nothing stop her—not the Islamists she enrages by rescuing a young woman from their brutality; not the prison gang leader who passes a death sentence on her; not the deadly reach of her long-lost twin sister, Camilla; and not the people who will do anything to keep buried knowledge of a sinister pseudoscientific experiment known only as The Registry. Once again, Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist are the fierce heart of a thrilling full-tilt novel that takes on some of the world's most insidious problems.

  • Ehh

I’ve read these books and I can’t get enough of the stories and twist. It’s not like the norm of mysteries. A page turner because you want to know where the story is going. I gave this five stars because I am a fan. I want to be honest and say that this was not my favorite and it didn’t satisfy. I’m hoping the next one will.
  • Make no comparison

I do not compare this author to the original, but rather I am just happy these characters are living on thru more stories.

Intense, suspenseful read. Keeps Salander’s spirit alive and the intricate web of characters ever present and in depth in recesses of our minds. Well done! However I grew to resent the inordinate amount of time travel that had to be absorbed and dealt with to the detriment of the flow on the read. Hence the withdrawn star!
  • It is appropriate

Pretty good in following storyline from first three!

I love Lisbeth and the series...but for this book the author seems more intent on impressing us with his knowledge of various subjects, than writing an exciting story. The book meanders and is boring. You yearn for more Lisbeth.
  • Couldn’t keep my interest

For some reason this book had portions that I just couldn’t get in to. I liked the twists and storyline but I found it boring at times. It was also not the type of book that made me stay awake trying to see what happened next. Not terrible just not great.
  • Difficult to Enjoy

I’ve liked this series a lot up until this book. It’s a flood of new characters with poorly told, disjointed introductions to them. Every time an interesting plot seems to occur we immediately cut to a more tedious one. Whether it’s introductions to a new character or another fractured side story of one we were already introduced to. I found it immensely challenging to be invested in most of the characters in this book.
  • Just sucked

    By mexsmurf
I gave the book the benefit of the doubt and wanted to read it because I am a huge fan of the series; even the last book. This book was just all around bad. It was poorly written and poorly structured. There was never any high points in the book. It just ended, no closure or anything. The book just made me confused when I finished it even in the epilogue. I felt like I had to read it because I am a huge fan of the series but this book was a struggle to read. It just was not a good all around book. Very disappointed.

Pretty good read and great characters. But disjointed in places and to many flashbacks.
